🎉 Thank You for an Incredible IMMERSEcon 2025! 🎉 Over two days, we had the privilege of connecting with educators, researchers, and XR innovators who are using immersive technology to transform learning. 👏 A Special Thanks to Our Speakers We’re incredibly grateful to all of our presenters who shared their expertise and insights. A special shoutout to Cortney Harding , our keynote speaker, and Matthew Sanders Meta’s Director of XR Education, Global Affairs, for joining us in a Fireside Chat. It was an honor to sit down with Meta just days after the launch of Meta for Education to discuss their vision for the future of XR learning. 🥽🚀 🎥 Missed a session? International students studying abroad here in the United States, often struggle with language barriers, social isolation, and confidence when practicing English. At Arizona State University, Emilia Gracia, PhD, saw this challenge firsthand and a partnership with IMMERSE was born. 🚀 By integrating VR-powered language practice into ASU’s curriculum, students were given the opportunity to step into real-world social situations, practice conversations, and gain confidence in a safe, immersive environment. We’re proud to collaborate with ASU in reshaping how language is taught and learned—because every student deserves the confidence to communicate, connect, and succeed.

Earlier this week at #SXSW, I had the opportunity to speak on a panel at #Meta’s reception and Quest for Education launch party. It was a particularly meaningful moment because, throughout 2023-2024, IMMERSE worked on a Meta-funded research project exploring VR for language learning in high schools across the U.S. When we set out to deploy headsets in dozens of schools—reaching over 1,500 learners—we had no idea that our extensive documentation of challenges and successes would directly contribute to real solutions. Yet here we are. Quest for Education addresses many of the friction points we encountered, bringing us one step closer to making immersive learning more scalable, seamless, and effective. During the panel, I emphasized a key takeaway from our experience: hardware companies and developers must stay closely connected to the educators on the front lines. Without that collaboration, even the most advanced technology can struggle to make an impact in real classrooms. A huge thank you to my fellow panelists Adam Mangana, M.Ed., Tylar Nicklis, and Steve Grubbs, and to Kevin Chan, M.S.M., FRCGS, for moderating such a great discussion. And as if the night couldn’t get any better, Dr Regina Kaplan-Rakowski, the professor leading our research project, and Yongluan Ye, the main research assistant, were in the audience. Seeing them there was a perfect full-circle moment—bringing our research to life in the very space where solutions are being shaped. Thank you, Meta, for the opportunity to be part of this important conversation. Looking forward to what’s next! #SXSW #VRforEducation #ImmersiveLearning #QuestForEducation #EdTech #LanguageLearning

🚀 Meta for Education Launch Party! 🎓 This event marked a huge milestone in bringing immersive learning to students at scale. With Meta for Education, it's easier than ever to seamlessly integrate VR & MR-powered experiences into classrooms with enterprise-level management tools, robust security features, and world-class content providers. 💡 Key Takeaways from last night in Austin, TX. ✅ Meta for Education empowers schools with a complete hardware + software solution for easy device, user, and experience management in Meta Horizon. ✅ Mixed reality is expanding learning to teach, train, and engage students beyond the limitations of traditional classrooms. ✅ Educators, software engineers, policymakers, and innovators came together to explore how immersive learning can safely and effectively shape education -- not in the future, but right now! ✅ VR is no longer just an experiment—it's becoming a mainstream tool for deeper engagement and better learning outcomes. We’re proud to be part of this transformation, helping students build real-world fluency through immersive language learning experiences. ✨

Meta for Education has landed! 🥽🧑🏫🚀 Two years ago, we asked ourselves how we could turbocharge the incredible energy and innovation we were seeing in immersive education. The result, Meta for Education, is Meta's first ever VR package designed specifically for schools, colleges and universities, and from today will help teachers deploy and manage headsets, discover new content and enrich the student experience. I'm proud that we made a deliberate decision to put educators at the heart of our strategy, and this product is better for the involvement of so many leading universities around the world. Thank you to each of them for inspiring and challenging us in equal measure. On a personal level, this has been some of the most fulfilling work of my career. It’s been exciting to drive change through a corporate, rather than government, lens - working alongside some of the world's leading tech talent. The best bit? Meta for Education’s management software comes as standard for education institutions buying new Quest devices. So if you’re a teacher considering how to start using immersive technology in your lessons, this really is the best time to have a go. We can’t wait to see what you achieve! 📌 Newsroom post: https://lnkd.in/eyGa5SiH 📌 Blogpost: https://lnkd.in/eYCf9b3s 📌 Sales: https://lnkd.in/ePU244S3 📌 Forbes exclusive (featuring Nick Clegg, Quinn Taber and Thomas Merrick): https://lnkd.in/eZ2a88Fu

𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀! With the launch of Meta for Education today, schools and universities can now seamlessly integrate immersive learning into the classroom. 💡 Here is why this matters ✅ 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗩𝗥 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 – Educators can now focus on teaching, not troubleshooting hardware. ✅ 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘀 – Pre-VR language learning tools averaged 15 minutes per week—IMMERSE members now average 225 minutes per week in VR! ✅ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 – Instead of memorization, students learn by immersing themselves in authentic environments, like shopping in a sporting goods store or navigating an airport. We’re excited to continue shaping the future of fluent, confident communication in education. 𝗜𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘 👉 immerse.com 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 👉 https://lnkd.in/ehrejPE3
